Nandita – The HEART Movement Coordinator, and Tara were in one of those moments of clarity, where they were bouncing off each other about the needs of our community, the endless possibilities and what could be done to help…
“You know what we need? We need to know what’s going on. We need to have open and transparent communication between each other, and share what we’re doing and when. This isn’t rocket science and it’s something that the community has asked for over and over again.”
– Tara Moala
The idea of a community calendar was raised and encouraged in the kōrero. Why not just start it and see where it ends up. So they did. There was a soft launch of the calendar on a website called Tamaki Online in October and community practitioners have been slowly adding to it since.
In the next month, Tyrone (CAYAD worker) was keen to develop the site into a resource for accessing local research documents that are useful for Tāmaki practitioners, community workers, and members. He’s joined the ‘Tāmaki Online’ team and we’ll hopefully see some next steps into this soon, including an expansion of the online team.
