The Department of Conservation has a wonderful group of people working in the Partnerships team in Auckland who are wanting to create more community led development opportunities in the partnerships that they create. To start this, Tara ran a Co-Design 101 Workshop in March 2017 with the DOC team in Auckland.
It was well received and DOC felt that the co-design process could enable more engagement and community led opportunities within the partnerships that they create. The next step in that journey was for the Partnerships team to connect with local Marae and identify what they are wanting and needing.
NO IDEA WHAT THE NEXT STEPS WERE HAHA. Need photos.
In March 2017, Tara was contracted by DOC to bring three marae together with local council and government entities to learn about codesign and create a collective that will work collaboratively on projects. This consisted of two 101 Workshops and one 2-day noho on marae.
The workshops focused on,
- DOC Auckland leads learning the basic principles of codesign
- Local South Auckland marae to plan the codesign process they would like to implement
The noho focused on,
- Local South Auckland marae and local council and government entities to grow their collective and associated projects through a codesign process.
