United Sustainable Sisters

Tāmaki WRAP decided to step into the world of reusable menstrual products at the end of 2016. They were successful in receiving a Waste Minimisation and Innovation Fund Grant and so in 2017, they began the mission to distribute 100 menstrual cups to 100 women. Tara joined the mission in early 2017 and began by connecting women on K’Rd at both Merge Cafe (run by Lifewise) and The New Zealand Prostitutes Collective.

Halfway through the year, Tara presented on behalf of USS at the “Getting To Zero Community Hui” at Papatuanuku Kokiri Marae.

The response to the USS Mission was so positive, that the United Sustainable Sisters had achieved their goal by August 2017 and are now entering into the next steps of their journey of creating a sustainable social enterprise.
