Over the last three months, we’ve teamed up with Pacific Vision Aotearoa to help Māori and Pasifika communities in Tāmaki Makaurau get stronger against climate change. This partnership led to the creation of our ‘Climate Manava,’ a monthly gathering of community leaders rooted in culture to explore strategies for community empowerment in climate action. Inspired by our tupuna and committed to the aspirations of our communities, our efforts are centered around identifying and understanding barriers to community involvement in climate initiatives.
If you’ve heard about any cool projects in your area that help the environment and are run by or for Māori and Pasifika – like gardening, upcycling, recycling, cutting down waste, etc – we would love to know!
