TIES being re-designed involved developing and implementing TIES into a sustainable, community-led initiative on behalf of the TIES Taumata Rōpu.
The engagement process included several wananga at Ruapotaka Marae, for the Tāmaki community to connect and engage with TIES – learning about the original tools and help to implement the next steps of what TIES could look like in the future.
The series of wananga focused on; What is TIES, how can it be implemented into Tāmaki, and what do we need to grow practical application of TIES in our community work?
Through this engagement the creation of three key TIES prototypes helped to develop a new approach to how TIES can be incorporated in our way of working together. These prototypes were;
-
Self Awareness
-
Fostering Collaboration
-
Community Voice
Each of these prototypes were interwoven and embedded into the activities that were active in Tāmaki through 2017. In 2018, we created a website, launched it and began sharing the new tools that were created and how they can help to grow additional skills in our local community workers.
Timeframe: August 2017 – May 2018
